What is The Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund is a yearly fundraising campaign designed to raise money to meet the $3,500 gap between tuition revenue and the actual cost of educating an Eastside Catholic student. The Annual Fund fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30 every year.
The Annual Fund supports our students in ways that impact them every day. Did you know that tuition fees cover only about 80 percent of the actual cost of educating each student at Eastside Catholic? Because our tuition does not equal the amount it costs to educate our students, The Annual Fund allows us to bridge this gap and continue to operate and provide our students with a world-class education.
In 2009-10, 30% of our families received tuition assistance with an average tuition assistance grant of $6,800 and totaling $1.7 million. The majority of the tuition assistance provided to students was funded through Annual Fund gifts through tuition, phonathons and direct mail.
Who contributes to The Annual Fund?
We all do. Alumni, current and past parents, faculty and staff members and the greater community are asked to support our students and our commitment to Eastside Catholic through The Annual Fund.
What does The Annual Fund support?
Why does Eastside Catholic depend on The Annual Fund? Unlike public schools, independent schools operate without financial support from the local tax base or from state or national governments. Therefore, Eastside Catholic relies on tuition income, endowment income and annual contributions to cover its operating costs and to bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of an Eastside Catholic education.
Why is full participation important to The Annual Fund?
Full support to The Annual Fund by current families, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, and friends demonstrates solidarity within the Eastside Catholic community. It demonstrates to foundations, corporations, major donors and friends that we are committed to our school and care about its future.
